Quality painting. Professional service.
|
A quality paint job can completely transform your home or office. On the other hand, painting is definitely not for everyone. It involves so much more than simply opening a can and dipping a brush. A quality painting professional will spot and address potential concerns before any paint sees the light of day. Using paint to cover up blemishes or past mistakes is a temporary fix at best. Cracking or bubbling paint likely indicates a more serious problem underneath, one which can be easily fixed if it is addressed, not ignored. One way to make a preliminary assessment of your previoius paint job is to look closely at the trim and baseboard, and corners where ceiling meets walls. See any drips, misses, weaving lines? A quality job begins with a quality painting professional with a keen eye for details and a steady hand, using only the highest quality materials. And it ends with you being proud of your living space.
Choosing a quality paint is of course important. Because paints change from year to year, at SharpLine we keep a close eye on the interior painting business and only use those brands of paint that have been thoroughly tested and consistently come out on top in terms of good coverage, wearability, fading, toxicity and other factors. Simply knowing that Aunt Harriet likes a particular brand of paint doesn't mean it will hold up well in your home! But just as important is your selection of a quality brush or roller. I've heard do-it-yourselfers complain about a perfectly good paint leaving lines on their wall, only to discover that they applied it with a $2 roller!.Your finished product will only be as good as your cheapest tool.

One of the first things to consider before any project begins is color choice. Finding colors that work with your existing space, as well as your own personal style, is critical in establishing sharp lines that you can live with. We can help you with color and design choices if you desire. It is important to consider what else will be in the room and build the wall color around that. When painting the room pictured on the right, the colors in the photograph helped the homeowner decide what paint colors to choose.

When preparing walls for paint, it is important to identify any cracks or holes in the old paint, or areas that have bubbled up. Many painters will simply fill cracks or holes with fresh paint, which invariably leads to bigger problems down the road.
The top picture on the right was taken after we discovered that the old surface paint was covering a stencil and several pieces of Scotch tape. Paint will NOT adhere to any surface like Scotch tape! In addition, a poor drywall taping had exposed a rather large crack.
The lower picture shows the finished product.
